Topic: The FFConwk12 HQ House has been BOOKED! Pics and info inside
The house has been booked! It's in West Hollywood, so a pretty central location - about 30 to 45 minutes to the beach or really anywhere else in LA. Downtown, etc. Decent enough walking area too.
There is nearly 1,600 square feet of living space plus and addtional space in an outdoor living room. The home has been meticulously renovated. The 7,000 square foot lot includes masterful succulent gardens, a koi pond, and walking paths. It has been featured in Dream Palaces of Hollywood’s Golden Era, Kesling Modern Structures, and Metropolitan Home Magazine and photographed by Julius Schulman.
This property features three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is a queen size bed in the master bedroom which is overlooking the private garden and Koi pond with an HD TV, a king size bed in the 2nd bedroom and a double bed and TV in the 3rd bedroom.
The zen yard also includes a koi pond, gas BBQ grill for your summer BBQ, outdoor furniture and meandering paths that lead to a bubbling rock fountain.
The home has hardwood floors throughout and a recently restored Roman Brick fireplace in the living room along with a large 3D TV. The bathrooms have also been carefully restored to their 1930s glamour, while a full-house-and-garden sound system, modern roofing material and tankless water heater update the home to present-day standards. This William Kesling Streamline Moderne home is truly an architectural treasure. The residence has an eco-friendly garden of mature succulents.
This residence is magical and considered a jewel of Streamline Moderne architecture, with striking horizontal lines, round edges, flat roof, and wing-like Pergola gates. William Kesling's Streamline Moderne home has was built in 1936 for Wallace Beery, an Academy Award winning actor. Beery stared in films such as "The Lost World," "Robin Hood," and "The Champ." He was the first husband of the famous Gloria Swanson, star of "Sunset Boulevard," and was later married to Rita Gilman.
William Kesling's architectural style showcases his love of Hollywood, curved forms, straight lines and aesthetics. Once he began working with Wallace Beery, who had a love for airplanes, Kesling incorporated aviation and aeronautic elements into the design.
The style is "Streamline Moderne," which features curves, differing from art deco which is angular; streamline accentuates the horizontal and art deco emphasizes the vertical; streamline is clean and spare; art deco is ornamented with varied geometric shapes.
Stay here and you'll take a piece of Hollywood history away with you for the rest of your life!
