Topic: Royalty Free Music / Music Video

I was thinking making a fight about a
1:30 music vid based on a royalty free music track.

All thats needed to be done is choose a shortlist of tracks, and then pick a final one for a fight.

Here are some sites with awesome royalty-free music:

Re: Royalty Free Music / Music Video

I don't think there should be a time restriction, shouldn't it just be based on the length of the track? But otherwise I like the sound of it

Re: Royalty Free Music / Music Video

I think you'd probably need a maximum time limit, in case someone picked a track at two minutes, and someone else picked one at six minutes. I like the idea though, I sometimes end up creating films around ideas from music anyway, so it would definitely interest me.

Re: Royalty Free Music / Music Video

I just hate cutting music off, and it feels wrong doing that in a music video to me anyway

Re: Royalty Free Music / Music Video

Back in the day we did a forums-only Music video fight. We used copyrighted music, but since it was forums only it didn't matter.

I'd be down for doing another one if there's enough interest.

Re: Royalty Free Music / Music Video

Well I just want to have a go at doing a music video so if it's royalty free or not I don't care, I'll do it

Re: Royalty Free Music / Music Video

Yeah, I totally agree with that, I hate it when a song just gets a quick fade or abrupt cut. But you can try and be clever with it, like take out middle portion of the track, then add then end back in afterwards for example so it has a proper ending. Usually all you need is a very short cross fade to soften it out, but if you make sure and keep to the timings/beat, etc. then you 'should' be able to make it work.
I have to admit, I honestly don't know the first thing about music, this is only something I've started doing from my hatred of music just fading out if the track is too long.

Re: Royalty Free Music / Music Video

Does anyone know where I can find some relaxing royalty-free music?

This is exactly what I do when I don't want abrupt cuts. But it takes more work and you have to prepare the edited music track in advance and know how long your video will be. But it's all worth it compared to just cutting it abruptly.
