Topic: The Creature

I have noticed that this part of the forum is already begining to die. well i'm not letting that happen. So:

Title: The creature
Genre: 1950's style horror flick
Subject: something (some sort of creature) invades a small town and the only person who can save it is the highschool jock, his coward girlfriend, a scientist who may have caused the disaster in the first place, his grandfather, and a few friends (or any combination of those, or not any of those at all, what EV).

classic, it's probably been done here before, but not since I've been around. I'm thinking black and white, cheesy effects, bad acting (purposfully) and perhaps a monster made of felt (watch "the creeping terror" on Mystery Science Theater 3000 if you ever can). I love the idea of of an alien or some scientific misdeed coming and slowly killing off the retarded population of a small town during the Red Scare (COMMIES!) The military is always hopless and for some reason a dumb jock befriends a scientist or old man who just so happens to know exaclty how to kill of the creature.

The creature should be as idiotic as you can think of, but the towns people should act in a way that makes their reactions seem a little to serious about a slow moving slug that people have to wait for so they can die.

SO WHAT SAY YOU?

Re: The Creature

i vote YAY to the criteria, but NAY to the b&w and bad acting. i think thats a great way to handle the criteria, but some creative freedom should be given to the group.

after re-reading it, i could almost swing with the B&W being a requirement, depending on how eveyone else felt.

Re: The Creature

Hey, I love the idea and all, but as far as a FIGHT is concerned...  I think we'd be lucky to get two entries.   I think it's too ambitious for the average group to handle.  There's a fine line between "cheesy" and "sucky".   You should totally do this on your own though. wink

Re: The Creature

I was just going for doing the classic horror, in a comedic way. i don't think that it should be serious, I think that the characters should act serious but be in a very idiotic situation. I think that comedy comes out of seriousness, and the more serious the characters are about their quirks and the weird situations their in, the funnier it is. Also I was going for a silly monster, so i edited my post to specify that more.
