Topic: Swap a Script

Just a few quick ideas I had that might be fun.

1. Swap a Script Fight - normal genre fight, but every group writes a script and sends it to Justin (or whoever).  Justin then sends the scripts to different groups, so you have to direct someone else's script.  Obviously you wouldn't want to write a script that screws someone else.

2.  Same Script Fight - someone writes a script for a genre fight, and everyone has to film the same script.  I have a feeling you would get very different films.

3.  2nd Submission Fight - Normal fight, but after everyone reviews and gives notes, people take the critiques and redo the same film.  The next weeks fight is the same films again, incorporating everyone's notes, and we see if the same film wins again.

These two I really like. For the first one it would awesome to write a script and see someone else do it, and probably change the way that you thought it would be played out. Seeing a group who wrote a serious script to something comedic and vice versa would be nice to watch.

The second one is also interesting and I could have sworn there was talk about this before. It would be cool to have a bunch of people submit a script that fits the time limit and then have a general vote (in a forum where everyone can read the scripts) on which script everyone wants to do. It would take some planning and a while for everyone to read some of the ideas, but it would be fun in the end to see how everyone takes the ideas.

Re: Swap a Script

I like that these ideas are more experimental than usual. Very very cool.

Re: Swap a Script

Somewhat similar to those, taking a common plot and having each group put one of their characters into that situation (a character they've developed for a previous movie).  It'd be pretty funny seeing groups put a character into some completely random situation just to fit the fight's plot.

Re: Swap a Script

I really like all of these ideas. The last one might be harder to coordinate because all the same people would have to commit to doing two films in a row, and the people who leave feedback the second time would have to watch the first round of videos. Oh and how would we even know who to vote for in the first round? I still think its a cool idea but these thoughts just started plaguing me! But yeah good ideas!!!

Re: Swap a Script

I would really love to go through with this in the near future. I am in the script writing mood. The idea of swaping scripts with other teams, is cool.

The one script fight is awesome also, but it might get old seeing the same thing five times, unless the groups each choose a different genre and make sure that no one will do a similar film. DOO!
